Well it's a long story.

First as far as Serra goes. She was born in Maine not a import.
Both of them came from a farm that raised cart horses. Serra was at one time one of the main cart pullers. Then she got cut somehow and was retired from the cart. How ever she was used as a brood mare for 8 years. So she will need to be retrained.  Serra is 12 years old. Has sort of a lightning bolt on her head and 4 socks.

And for Dee Dee She came from the same place. 6 yrs old, Only used as a brood mare. She has a splash on her head and one white sock. If you study her conformation you can tell she has a bit of a mix in her. I'm told it is QH.

From where they came. The farm that kept them really cared for them nice. As best that they could. How ever the owner passed away and the sun tried to take it over. He knew nothing about horses at all. They where pretty much left to fend for there self for a year. 5 large studs 54 brood mares 20 something yearlings (pregnant) Quite a few stud yearling. and a bunch of nursing foals. On of the original owners friends found out what was going on and decided to get the sheriff involved. They got funding from a bunch of foundations and went to work. All the studs where gelded, Then placed. The mares are all but placed. The yearling fillys are at another farm where they where aborted or will be let run full course. At the vets recommendation.

As far as my 2 they are inseparable they have spent the last 4 years together. They got all the testing done, I also had blood pulled just to check there results. I have no need for a unexpected foal. I would take care of a foal if one does show up. but i would like to know. The paperwork that came with them had a negative. But it is all ways good to recheck it anyway.

I would say they are better then your mare, But still a little flighty with some work they will be good to go. We got a call from the trainer we are trying today. He said scarecrow would be ready buy next Saturday to have his potential adopter come and ride him. So we are seeing Great progress all ready. We did a couple of spot checks. every time we randomly stop buy he has plenty of hay and water. Stall clean as can be expected. If this trainer works out we will be giving him plenty of work!! I will be nice and let you take Merlin before Dee Dee If you want LOL !!

They are here with me. I took them as a foster placement, However I like them a lot And think they will stay. The more attached i get the more likely they will stay. Once i pay for them to go to the trainer they are staying. In 2 months Lilly is going for a complete retraining. Then Serra, Maybe then Wildcats Merlin, Last Dee Dee.

I see them making Real nice trail horses. most likely they are staying unless we find someone who really wants them and has great References.

I did want a gelding, The few i did look at where not for me. If i am going to buy a horse he has to be just right. I would rather pay a good trainer, Then pay over 1000.00 for a horse that has very little training. I Don't think i could buy because i like how they look i'm not a breeder after all!!

Well, if you decide not to keep Serra, let me know.  There's "talk" that Leila might be happier with a mare for company, rather than living with a bunch of geldings.  I'm not actively looking for another horse, mind you, but I am rather fond of Egyptian Arabians, and when it comes to bays, I like 'em flashy-like Serra.  (Kayode and Leila both are registered Egyptian/Polish Arabs.)
