I have no idea how to go about researching school districts and was wondering if anyone could give me some pointers.  Donovan will be 3 in July and I'm thinking it's getting to be about time for preschool.  As much as I would love to home school him, I'm realistic enough to see I cannot handle his socialization needs on my own.

We live in a county that has very little to offer in the form of activities for young children.  There are no local playgroups to join.  I am not impressed with what I know about the school system (case in point a high school Ag teacher that is a functional illiterate) and I would like to find information that either supports or refutes my impression of this district.  I would also like to research the school district two counties over because I have heard incredibly good things about it.  Matt and I are considering, if the hearsay turns out to be true, moving to that county to get Donovan into that system.  (It's also the same county Matt's company is, so it would be beneficial to him as well.)

So, can anyone help me research the Adair and Barren county school districts?  Please?

The only way I know to research a school is to talk with the parents and teachers in person.  Sorry that's not much help.  As for playgroups and such I'm a big believer in doing it myself.  If they didn't have it here I started it and if some program wasn't running the way I wanted I would offer to run it when the opportunity presented itself.
